After the first day of KIDS WEEKEND everyone’s invited to take part in a discussion on the success of Jānis Nords’ film “Mother, I love you”, the family films in general and their employment as an educational tool.
Topics will include:
A case study of Jānis Nords’ film “Mother, I love you” (its context, genre, and the success in festival circuits)
The specifics of family/children films; their role and necessity. The genre in the context of Latvian and Estonia film industry: topicality, demand, and the relationship with the public.
The role of children’s film festivals (or children’s programs within festivals) in education and skills development; festival circulation; the role and responsibility of festivals’ organizers. Sharing the experience of Kristiansand International Children’s Film Festival.
Children’s films as an educational tool on Internet platforms and school curricula.
Children’s films from parents’ point of view; festival experience (incl. children’s juries).
