NORDIC HIGHLIGHTS
Martin, a boyish thirty-something, goes on a weekend hike in the mountains. But one can never run away from oneself, and, just like many of us, Martin too cannot just be, without analysing his relationship with his wife and their small son, the mundanity of his job, the ever-present sense of alienation… It seems something has been irretrievably lost, and there is an urge for a drastic action. What would happen if they got divorced? What if the wife died? And what if he himself suffered an accident? When life gives a freedom of choice, how will Martin act?
Ole Giæver’s simple yet deeply personal story (he is both the writer and director, as well as plays the lead role) resonates with everyone who has ever come to an emotional crisis and had been forced to unravel their mind’s puzzles.
