FESTIVAL PRE-OPENING SCREENING: After hours

Before the party, there’s always the pre-party! The screening on the first day of the festival and at the chosen significant “prime time” – 19:19 is comprised of a selection of ten films by the students of The Latvian Academy of Culture from 2006-2015. After a short interval of silence (or blank screen) it was in 2005 that The Latvian Academy of Culture reestablished the program of Audiovisual Art. During the ten years since then the program was graduated by many young film directors, cameramen, producers, and assistants. The selection includes the best student films of the last ten years, as well as some of the latest shorts, and reveals the world through the eyes of one of the youngest and therefore the potentially more interesting film cultures of Europe.
